Chapter 15, Sub Section 31 of the Laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica is used as the legislation through which decisions relating to a Fire Arm are made. Although the collection of Fire Arm payments is done through the office of the Comptroller of Inland Revenue, the Act is administered solely through the Commissioner of Police or any officer authorized to act on his behalf.
The Firearms (Amendment) Act 2011 amended the most recent firearms ratesĀ for shot guns, non shot guns and firearm dealers license are $200.00, $200.00 and $1,000.00 respectively. This was to take effect from the November 24, 2011.
It was made a prerequisite to have firearms identification cards to issue those in possession of registered firearms. This identification card system took effect in the year 2009.
